Pastured Pork

pigs 6-1-2010 001 We have pastured pork available for purchase! Our pigs are raised in a stress-free environment here on our ranch. We start them in the protection of our open air barn, and when they get acclimated, they are moved outside onto  grass pastures, where they are allowed to roam, root and forage. Our pigs are only raised on high quality feed and our own grass. Our pork is all-natural, with no hormones or antibiotics added.

We are now taking orders for 2018.  There will be pigs available monthly from May through October.

Pork is available by the whole or half pig. A whole or half is priced at $3.50/lb., hanging weight, plus cutting and wrapping of about $.70/lb. If you want the hams and bacon cured, it is $1.00/lb based on the actual weight of the hams and bacon, about 26-28 pounds.  Of course, you can have the pork cut and wrapped to your specifications. While weights will vary from one animal to another, a good overall average would be about 110 pounds hanging weight. After the pork is cut, wrapped and frozen, we will bring the frozen pork back to our place and keep it in our freezer for you.

Payment: We require a deposit of $100 at the time of order, and the balance is due when you pick up your pork. I pay the meat shop for their services, and then just pass the same costs along to you. You will get an invoice with all the details spelled out.

Freezer space: A half pig will take about 2-3 cu. ft. of freezer space.
