Pastured Pork

pigs 6-1-2010 001 We have pastured pork available for purchase! Our pigs are raised in a stress-free environment here on our ranch. We start them in the protection of our open air barn, and when they get acclimated, they are moved outside onto  grass pastures, where they are allowed to roam, root and forage. Our pigs are only raised on high quality feed and our own grass. Our pork is all-natural, with no hormones or antibiotics added.

2019 Pork Harvest Season (May – October)

Pork is available by the whole or half pig. It is priced at $3.75/lb of hanging weight, cutting and wrapping at $0.80/lb, and a haul and harvest fee of $60 for a whole and $30 for a half. While weights will vary from one animal to another, a good overall average would be about 110 pounds hanging weight. If you would like your ham and bacon cured, it is $1.00/lb based on the actual weight of the hams and bacon, about 26-28 pounds.

Around the time of harvest you will receive an email with the contact information for the meat shop.  The meat shop will work with you to determine the best way to cut and wrap your pork for you and your family. Your pork will be cut, wrapped, and frozen by the meat shop a few days after harvest. Cured products take roughly three weeks to be completed by the meat shop. These products will then be available for pick up.

The total cost will include $3.75/lb of hanging weight, cutting and wrapping at $.80/lb, a haul and harvest fee (whole -$60 or half -$30), and cure at $1.00/lb (if applicable). We require a deposit of $100 at the time of order, and the balance is due when you pick up your pork.

Freezer space: A half pig will take about 2-3 cu. ft. of freezer space.
